Interdisciplinary Marketing Strategy

An interdisciplinary marketing strategy has been implemented in this portfolio site to help promote myself. SEO has been found to play a significant role.

I have used an interdisciplinary marketing strategy in this portfolio site to help promote myself.

One important strategy used is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). It was important to consider SEO because it contributes to how discoverable my website is. To maximise the site’s SEO, all content is of quality and can be trusted. For example, the site does not have too many links or unclear content with a lack of direction. It is responsive on mobile devices and aims to provide a good user experience.

One aspect of SEO are keywords. Base and modifier keywords simply identify content to help reach an audience. They build audience trust and improve the site’s reputation. The WordPress plugin Yoast helped keep posts/content optimised.

Furthermore, the use of photos across the site help keep users engaged and have a desire to return to the site. Photos play a significant role in the Work section and were optimised before uploading to ensure faster load times.

Another marketing strategy used to promote myself is the customisation of this website through CSS and plugins. The image above shows additional CSS being used to customise features such as removing the “Powered by WordPress” slogan in the footer. This site follows a simple theme to allow content to stand out. Colours have been carefully selected to match aesthetics of projects and present my brand in a positive light.
